Welcome everyone to another episode of the Detox Experience. I am Jeff Hoyt, and today I am joined by Roxanne Eli of Apex Executive Wellness. And I am super excited for the conversation today. Roxanne is a wealth of information, very experienced in the field, and I'm sure she's going to impart a lot of wisdom on us. So Roxanne is a board-certified holistic health practitioner, functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner, and menopause hormones practitioner. And she specializes in working with high performance women in business. And we'll get a little bit more into that at the end. So stay tuned for a little bit more about exactly what she has to offer and kind of her specialty. So welcome to the show, Rexanne. How are you doing?
SPEAKER_01Thank you, Jeff. I'm excited to be here. I've I've used your your product about a year now. So I'm excited to talk about it and and how we can help these women.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. So there's definitely lots of men and women, and everyone just seems to need need help more than ever these days. And it's, you know, it's what I like to say is we're not uh we're not going to be healthy by accident anymore. Right. It's like, you know, we have to do something to take control of our health. And, you know, there's practitioners like yourself that are that are out there to help people. So it's going to be a good one. So why don't we just start with a little bit of your background? How did you get into this field of kind of natural health? Give us a little bit of your story.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, I'll try and make it brief, but it's really my entire life. Um, I've always been interested in nutrition and health and well-being. And uh even in college, you know, I got a master's degree in exercise and sports nutrition. And then I started working in the corporate world, uh, you know, um, corporate fitness centers, on-site gyms, um, workplace well-being programs. And in my in the last, I'm gonna say 30 years, and I know I'm dating myself here, but I've worked in the corporate wellness industry. So working for organizations that manage, you know, design and manage well-being programs for their employees. And I remember it was, oh, I'm gonna say about good 15 years ago now. Um, I was, I had just re I just accepted a position as a VP of regional sales for this national health management company. And I was at their Chicago headquarters, and I'd been at the job maybe I'm gonna say three weeks or so. And so beautiful, beautiful office, you know, overlook Chicago. And all of a sudden, so I'm presenting my um go-to-market strategy, basically business development strategy, and I remembered vividly to this day, all of a sudden I just felt like the room, the temperature just increased like to 100 degrees in the room. You know, you just you just feel hot, and I'm thinking, what is wrong with me? Maybe I'm just getting sick, maybe it's jet lag, I was traveling every week, and so I excused myself, went to the bathroom, wiped off, got the hair dryer to, you know, the hair, the hand dryer machine, dried my armpits, and went back. And it didn't dawn on me literally until like a good two years later that that was one of my first hot flashes. I didn't, I'd been working in the corporate world helping, you know, employees with their well-being for, you know, a couple decades. And it and I didn't even connect the dots. And so to fast forward, it was a couple years after that, I finally went and saw a functional medicine doctor. I think I was about 47 at the time. And she ran my labs and my hormones were tanked. I mean, my estrogen was basically in the toilet. Testosterone was like eight, you know, and a good level is around 60 or so for me. Um, progesterone was gone, and she said, You're full-blown menopause, meaning you have been in menopause for at least a year now, and I didn't even know it. And so got on bioidentical hormones and you know, started to do the things. I actually my thyroid was in the toilet by that time, too. Anyway, so started all of that, but I really didn't understand the mechanism of the hormone fluctuations and the hormone decline with brain fog and hot flashes. I really didn't understand the science behind it, but I knew all the lifestyle pieces to put in place. And so it was really at that time where I thought, if I am going through this and I'm supposed to be the expert in health and wellness, how many tens of thousands of women are out there experiencing the same thing and just not having a clue about it? So that was really the impetus to starting the Apex Executive Wellness. But even at that time, I wanted to know the science behind it. I wanted to know the biochemistry and the physiology of why we're, you know, recommending these things that we are for these women. And so that's when I went on and got the practitioner certification in FDN, functional diagnostic nutrition, and became a holistic health practitioner because I also wanted to be able to order the labs so I could actually look at the data. And the labs are just a data point. I really focus on the symptoms that my clients are experiencing and then correlate it with the labs. So it was after that, uh, a couple years ago, I guess, when I finished up all of that and really started working with clients to first of all help them understand that their symptoms, they're not going crazy. It's not all in their head. And there are legit reasons for these, you know, the hot flashes, the brain fog, the weight gain. And that time I was about 25 pounds heavier. And I was doing all the things, you know, the exercise and the clean eating, just like all my clients tell me, but nothing was working. And so it was at that time where I got the practitioner certification that I really dialed it in and started helping clients understand the relationship between this age, usually about mid-40s, the hormones start to go on a roller coaster ride, and what they can do about it from a natural standpoint. So, as you know, Jeff, you've worked with a lot of us FDNs, and there's there's 99% of the things that you can do to help yourself just with natural therapies, supplements, um, lifestyle changes, things like that. So I developed something we can talk about it later. It's called the red dress method. So the red dress method is a little bit of a take on the FDN methodology to address lifestyle, but there are a few parts missing. And so my red dress method, it really hits all the parts of the lifestyle, um, including supplements, including environmental factors, you know, which the um toxins are huge in that. Um, and it's been working for my clients.
SPEAKER_00So that's awesome. Well, why don't we just get right into that right now? Because it kind of will give us kind of a broad overview of kind of your philosophy and some of your some of your strategies, and then maybe we can get a little bit deeper at the end. But yeah, t tell us about the red dress protocol. What is that an acronym? And uh yeah, tell us about it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it is an acronym. And I just like I just like the image of a red dress. I mean, every you know, every female just wants to look amazing in an amazing red dress. So it's it's it's catchy. We'll just start with that. But it really, it's a kind of a six-month um methodology, and it's not, you know, two weeks here, two weeks there. It we go in order, but as long as it takes to make those lifestyle changes. So we really start the red, the R is root cause discovery. And nobody likes to get labs done. I don't want to wait for the labs to get done and come back before I can start helping these clients. So root cause discovery, we really just start, I listen, listen to this, what my clients are telling me, what they're experiencing. And there's a couple, you know, we call them intake forms around lifestyle and of course medical history. And just from those two forms alone, so they can fill out and send to me in a day, we can get them started on changes in their lifestyle, whether it's diet or sleeping or exercise, whatever it is. And then the E stands for early wins because I want my clients to experience symptom relief within a week or two. They don't have to wait for months and months. And so we really start dialing those early wins and then kind of lean into that, you know, what's working, what's working well. And then the D in red stands for diet, because my my passion is diet nutrition. I used to own a food company where I would cook healthy meals for people that had specialty diets. So really know a lot about when I say food, I mean if somebody, you know, a lot of times doctors will recommend, and I'm not a doctor, but doctors or practitioners will recommend, you know, go gluten-free or give up the dairy or cut out the seed oils. And clients have no idea what that means or how to do that. And so we really start focusing on the parts of the diet, and I call it dietary adjustments, because I'm not here to overhaul their diet, I'm not here to tell them exactly what to eat or give them meal plans or eating plans. I want to look at what they're currently doing, what's working for them, and make small adjustments, small tweaks that can have really a big impact. So that's the RED, the root cause discovery, get some early wins, work on diet. And then the dress, the D really stands for deploy. Like we want to deploy a personalized targeted protocol. Because by that time, I'll have, we run about four foundational labs that you know, most FDNs run that tells me exactly where to focus on next. So if, you know, if their detox pathways are clogged, or you know, they're not digesting, or maybe they have leaky gut, or they could have a pathogen, which is what I had, um, that's throwing everything off, you know. So we want to deploy a personalized protocol around supplements and not just pills, but um other things that they can add to their their diet, and maybe, you know, some some roots or some um, you know, different adaptogens, things like that, and really spend a lot of time there. So back up a little bit with the root cause discovery. I also find it really valuable for my clients to they need to tune into their bodies. They need to find out what's what affects their brain the next day. If they eat something, what's going on the next day? And so I give them this um, it's called a personal success companion, but lack of a better term, it's a journal basically, and it's six months. And what I want them to do is just start keeping track of a few things that they're eating. I also give all of my clients a glucose monitor because we need to see how their diet is affecting that glucose spike and insulin. And I want them to tune into their bodies and see what's what's going on when they eat certain foods because a lot of people, not just women, but they have normalized their symptoms. So they'll they'll say things to me like, Jeff, they'll go, Oh, I'm always congested at night, or I always use nose spray, or um, you know, I always have gas and bloating after meals. That's just normal, or my joints always hurt. That's just normal. So so many women and men as well, they've normalized their symptoms. And when I ask them how long have you had this, usually they'll say, Well, forever. I'll go, okay, let's dial it back. When you were 20, did you experience this? Did you have joint pain when you were 20? And they'll say, Well, no, but I'm just getting older. So they'll normalize these symptoms. So these this journal is really important tracking this to just see what tweaks we can make. Um, so that's the diet part, and then the deploy strategy if they do have like a pathogen. You know, for instance, I when I had my labs done, I had H. pylori, which about 50% of the population does, but I had something called virulence factors, which makes it a really bad bug. And that H. pylori alone was throwing off everything else. It'll throw off your hormones, it'll throw off your histamine, it'll throw off your insulin, everything. So unless you address that first, nothing else is going to work. So that's why we really hone into that deploy targeted, you know, protocol after that. And then the R in dress is rest and recovery. And so it's not only sleep, how do you your sleep hygiene, you know, sleep behaviors, what do you do to maximize not only the amount of sleep, but the quality of sleep that you that you're experiencing? And also recovery, because a lot of the the high-performing women that I work with, they are they are doing all the things. I mean, they're exercising, they're lifting weights, they're, you know, making sure they watch their their diet, and for some reason it's not working. And it might be because they're not recovering or they're not giving their body a chance to recover. So rest and recovery. And then the E in dress, it's environmental adjustments. So we look at everything in the environment. Really hone in on the cleaning products, the skin and hair products that they're using, the, you know, the fragrances that they're using in their house, and then go on to like, you know, the EMFs and the lighting and you know, all of that. And it can be a lot. It's overwhelming. That's why it's kind of down in the method. But again, to just to make them aware that these things that they might have heard the term endocrists, so endocrine, your endocrine system, basically your hormonal system. You can be doing all the things right. And if you're consuming or you have these endocrine disruptors around you, again, it's going to mess up with your hormones. So it's not just about, I'm in perimenopause, I need hormone replacement therapy. No, it's about adjusting all the things in your life to, you know, bring your body back into balance. Um, and then the next, the last uh second to last S is uh strength, strength and movement. Okay, so we dial these things in, and now we really need to focus on strength. Um, as we all age, our muscle mass goes down, our ability to make more muscle goes down. Um, and so we focus on what can they do from us building strength? I'm not telling them to go to the gym or lift heavy weights, you know, we don't start there. We just look at their lifestyle and where can we fit in some movement that will help them build strength? And then the last S is sustainable strategy. Okay, now we've gone through all of this. Now what? What's next? What do we need to work on next? How do you sustain all of the success that that you've had to date? So red dress.
SPEAKER_00Red dress, perfect. No, that was that was fantastic. Yeah, lots, lots of uh, lots of information there in just the one the one acronym. So I like the last one, especially the last S, the uh the sustainability, because that's really I mean, we need, you know, it's there's nothing more frustrating than doing a protocol and then spending a lot of money and a lot of time, a lot of energy, and then you know, three months later you're back to where you started. Uh and it's just like you know, you didn't really maybe uh make the it's just it's one of those like you you band-aided yourself. You really wrapped yourself up with bandages for six months, but um the bandages unraveled now you're back where you started. So yeah, the sustainability, and then just you know, part of that is just yeah, continuing on. You know, it's like I said before, we're not gonna be healthy by accident. We have to, you know, keep this thing rolling through a little bit of intentional effort.
SPEAKER_01We have to absolutely, absolutely. And we do um, so that's like a six-month program. I also have a 12-month program where we do a deeper dive um into certain areas, like, and this ties back into the the Zoo charge. Um, so the in the 12-month program, we do these labs, we run them again, see where they're at, but then we do um an what's called an HTMA. It's a hair test mineral analysis, and it will look for the minerals and the balances or imbalances of those minerals as well as the heavy metals, the heavy metal toxins. And so with this HTMA test, what I found personally is, you know, here I am again doing everything right, so I think, but I still just felt fatigued. I just felt like, you know, why don't I have the energy I should? So I ran this HTMA test, and the four main minerals that that we look at really that help with energy, sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, they they were bottomed out, all four of them. And it's something that we refer to as a four lows pattern. And I see that in 90% of the women that I work with. Because stress, stress alone, and busy lifestyle will deplete magnesium big time, first of all. A lot of times if they're dairy-free, they're not getting in the calcium. So we look at those things, and that's why, you know, the lack of energy, even though you dialed in everything else. So the HTMA, that's that's really where I became known or knew about um zeolite and zeo charge, is because the HTMA protocol, you know, you there's a supplement that that we use, a custom blended supplement that we use. And part of that, you have to have a binder with it. And so many people, I think they confuse detox with the binder. You know, you can be giving all these herbs and supplements and doing the saunas and things like that to quote detox, you know. But unless when your body's detoxing, where does it go? It has to have a binder to catch it and take it out of the system. And so zeolite is something that's it's 100% part of this detox protocol. But it from my standpoint, it's the HTMA, we're trying to get those minerals up, but when you do that, the body start might start releasing some of these heavy metals and things like that. And so you have to make sure that you have a binder to catch it. Um, so the HTMA, so we go a little bit deeper on that, and then uh we go a little bit deeper on diet. We do a food sensitivity test uh again because you can be eating all the healthy foods, but for some reason, and you'll see it in the journal, whenever you eat this certain food, you may have a rash or you just feel tired or you've got brain fog. And another example, I ran this on myself and I knew that dairy affected me. I knew I um I would get congested at night, like a lot of phlegm, you know, and congestion, and you know, I would use nasal strips and nose spray and all those things. And even me to this day, because I am far from perfect, I normalized it. I thought, well, I I'm always congested at night. When I cut out the dairy, that stopped. Okay. Well, then it would come back sometimes, and I couldn't figure out why. So I got this uh diet um, and it it's uh it tests for inflammation, inflammatory markers when you eat, you know, it's like 170 different foods. So it's not um, it's not a diet test like, am I allergic to something? It'll show inflammation, the body's creating inflammation. And you know what, Jeff, my top four were uh whey protein, so I knew that, like dairy, arugula, pears, and bananas. I mean, no idea. Oh my okay. So, and I then I did a few tests on myself. I would eat some pear or, you know, have some arugula, and that night I would be congested. So we're always fine-tuning things, we're always tweaking things. It's never one and done. We're all on a health journey. You know, something will come up again in the future that you know we need to address. So it really has to be a sustainable lifestyle and strategy, always.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. Interesting stuff. I yeah, I uh when I first kind of got into the functional medicine space, I was working for a food sensitivity laboratory actually quite a few years ago. So really uh very interesting, uh interesting stuff with with some of the the foods that you know it's it's I think the way I describe like a nutritionist versus a functional nutritionist is a nutritionist will just tell you what is good for, you know, what is healthy. A functional nutritionist will tell you what is healthy for you. Right? It's like you know, the the old saying one man's food is another man's poison, so it's it's uh it's a and that's what makes our diet so tricky because it's uh it used to be more about the food, uh, but now it's more about the individual's response to the food because you can poison yourself with healthy foods. Uh and part of that is because of just the terrible agriculture, you know, and just the the the processes and the uh and the roundup and the pesticides, herbicides, and just the the practices of of agriculture that are kind of destroying the foods. But uh it's it's like our bodies are confused uh and it's not like the food itself is inherently good or bad, it's just that is does our body think it's good or bad? Because if our body thinks uh it's not good for us, then it's gonna mount a cleanup crew, like a like a response to try to take care of it, and that's gonna result in an inflammatory process. So it is very interesting. Um, I find that kind of field interesting, but uh yeah. So uh so let's talk back. So you mentioned the HTMA, that's how you got into the Zocharge. Why did you choose, you know, Zeolite? There's all these binders out there. Did you experiment with some of the other ones? Do you use other binders? Which ones do you like, which ones don't you like? Why how'd you uh kind of why why'd you decide to start using Zeo Charge instead of?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I think the number one reason is because it doesn't interact with other supplements that I'm taking, you know, or prescriptions. Um, I used to use activated charcoal all the time, and that will bind everything, you know, and so you have to make sure to take it away from other supplements, away from other food. And when I'm, you know, this mineral support supplement that I take, I need a binder that's not gonna bind to those things, you know, it'll just bind to the toxins. And the other binders, there's you know, pectin and um humic and fulvic, you know, all kinds, but I know that the um the zeolite specifically won't. So I'm very comfortable taking it with, you know, any other supplements, and and I do all the time, you know. And even when, you know, I find myself a lot, I don't know, I'll eat something and my stomach just doesn't kind of feel right for what. Reason, I'll take a good two or three scoops of of the Zo charge, and I mean within 10, 15 minutes, it's you know, I'm gone. And so it's the one I'm most comfortable with. And I know that it won't interact with, you know, whatever else I'm trying to achieve.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, perfect. So have you have you did you notice any sort of negative reaction, positive reactions? What were kind of your experience? What was your starting dose? How much did you take to start with? And did you have, you know, headaches, was there anything negative or positive or anything at all?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I didn't have any because I listened to you on a couple podcasts. I think you're on the health detective podcast for FDNs and and some others. And I know, you know, the starting with the higher amount is usually kind of recommended. And I can tell you firsthand that one of my clients, she we did an HTMA, she was on this mineral um support supplement, and she just she just felt awful. And I said, Well, are you taking the zeolite with it? And she said, No. I'm like, Well, why not? She's like, Oh, I just figured, you know, I don't know what her reason was. But I said, Well, you need to start taking it. And so she would take just like one scoop, and she still felt awful. And I'm like, Well, take more. And long story short, she just wound up stopping it, not taking the minerals, not because she felt awful. And I told her, you need to go up to like five scoops. I mean, take, take as much, it's okay, you know, it's not gonna hurt anything until those symptoms resolve, and then you can start backing off on it. So I knew enough to, you know, you know, take, but so right now, like when I take my mineral supplement, I do about like it's like two heaping scoops at the same time, sometimes three. Um, but again, it's just because I I had listened to you. Did I do it right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's where I mean it, it it's you know, it's a bit of an art. It takes some experimentation. There's no way to know, like the exact perfect dose for you versus every other person. That's what everyone wants. Everyone is so trained to look at a label, like either a prescription or a supplement and say, you know, take one capsule with a meal, you know, once daily. And they're like, perfect. You know, it's like there's there's it's like one cat the the need, the specific need for any supplement or medication or anything is so different for each person. Like you have to put something on the label, that's why it's there.
SPEAKER_01But it's not like and they always say, you know, the the dose or whatever, you know, take one capsule or as your practitioner recommends. I was like, okay, listen to that part.
SPEAKER_00You know, I I saw I was, I don't remember what I was. It was some supplement that I was looking at the other day, and it said, you know, take, I think it was a powder, it might have been a probiotic fiber or something. And it said, you know, take one scoop, or as recommended by a nutrition literate practitioner.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I was like, there you go. I was like, that's a good, uh, maybe I should add that to my label. But anyway, it was a I like to, it was kind of interesting. But yeah, it's it's so for the dosing, it's it's like with anything, you know, you want quality, you want the right quantity, the two cues. And you know, the reverse titration thing with zeolite, it is kind of hard for some people to get their just wrap their minds around because we're so trained to think like, okay, let's just take a pinch, see what happens, and then go from there. But you know, a lot of people that just doesn't, that usually just doesn't work out as well. So at this point, it's it's you know, I originally I called it the higher dose theory, where it was like, you know, this is probably why you should try a higher dose. Now I just call it the zeolite dosing paradox because so many people have you know found success with the higher doses at this point. I think it's pretty well established.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, it really is. And and you're right, we're trained as practitioners to titrate up, you know, take this much, take that much, take that much. And so it is a little bit of a mind shift with that. Um, and also, you know, and I'm preaching to the choir here, but the you can't just have any zeolite, you know, it's really important to get a high quality, and I know you're not paying me to say this, but um the so the the uh supplement company that I order the minerals from, they have their own zeolite. And I I choose not to order that and I use the zeo charge instead because I just don't know. I just don't know the quality and you know how it's manufactured and if it's you know proven to work as well. So I just order a bunch of Zeo Charge on the side and put it with it. So yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's awesome. I appreciate it. It's and that's that's kind of what I I saw in the industry when I, you know, because I had a supplement company previous um to to selling Zeolite before I even had heard of Zeolite. I started a supplement company 10 years ago, Glyco Life Sciences. And most of that is now like almost a secondary site for Zeolite Labs. So you can mostly just get the Zeolite Labs products. But before it was a whole different line of stuff. And um I don't even know where I was going with that.
SPEAKER_01But it's important to have a good quality, you know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. So yeah, yeah. So when I was getting into Zolite when I first heard of it, and I was like, okay, this is interesting. It's like I didn't really see a lot of practic what I would consider practitioner-friendly brands on the market. It's like there's a lot of like these companies just making ridiculous claims, like, you know, this cures everything. And you know, it's like, we know that's not the case. It's like and there's a you know, a lot of you know, network marketing, zeolite, all this stuff, it's like, you know, there's not a lot of like that I would feel comfortable recommending. I was like, all right, so I dug deeper and that, you know, that's why I ended up developing the company. But still to this day, it's like there's so many, and there's more products than ever now, zeolite products, because it's it's trending a little bit. But it's like you see, I, you know, I've I've seen some of these companies that literally take zeolite from these commercial mines, like out of out of Nevada or out of Idaho. And there's a couple like zeolite mines in the US that are, you know, they're commercial mines because they will mine zeolite for various purposes, not like not for human consumption. But these companies will just take that and they'll package it and they'll call it like purified, you know. I've seen it like the cleanest zeolite in the market and you know, nano-sized powder, like all just ridiculous stuff. And they literally just take this, this, this non-food grade, like agriculture grade zeolite, package it. And sometimes they're charging ridiculous amounts to it's crazy. And but that's it is what it is. And it's it's like you can do that as a supplement company. So it's like you cannot just just because something is you know on Amazon or something is on the internet, doesn't mean it's okay. Like it does there's not like a massive vetting process where they're like, oh, we're gonna make sure this is safe. No, it's like companies can do that. The main thing the FDA goes after is claims, it's not the product. So as long as you're not making ridiculous claims, which most of them do, but yeah, you know, like if you're not, and you just you you could put sugar in a water bottle and and you call it, you know, sell it for a thousand dollars and call it something, as long as you're not making some weird claim on it, it's like it's okay that it's sugar water. Like it's it's just it's very interesting, the whole thing with the FDA.
SPEAKER_01But I can tell you, I yeah, and again, back to my clients, when I talk to them, you know, recommend there was a lady um, I don't know, it was about three weeks ago. Um, she's not a current client, but I was talking with her about um bioidemical hormone replacement therapy. Because as a practitioner, first of all, we want to start with the supporting the body, supporting the you know, the adrenals and the thyroid to make their own hormones. But if for whatever reason that's not working, then there are bioidentical hormone therapies for estrogen, um, progesterone, um, DHEA, all those things. The only thing we can't do is testosterone that's still on lockdown. But anyway, so this lady said, Oh, I've tried, she said, I've tried that before and it didn't work. And I'm like, tried what? And she goes, Well, I tried all those natural things for the for the hormones and they didn't work. And so I'm like, you know, I dug a little bit deeper. I'm like, what did you try? Where did you get it? Something off of Amazon, you know, something like this. Or, you know, they'll say, I'm taking all these supplements and they're not working, as if it's the supplement's fault, because it is. Um, it's not um the supplement itself, it's just that brand that they bought. You're right, Jeff. It could have nothing but sugar water in it. They just don't know. And so, as a practitioner, you know, we we go pretty deep in looking at the quality of supplements, looking at their manufacturing processes, looking at third-party testing, all of those things to make sure that number one, what they say is in it is, and number two, it's bioavailable. The body can actually use it and it's effective. So it's so hard for the consumer these days. I mean, goodness, when they go to any grocery store, you know, here in Colorado, we have uh natural grocers, it's called. Um, other other places sell supplements too, but there are aisles and aisles, and you'll see, you know, a whole two rows of vitamin D, you know, and you're like, which one do I pick and why? And it's it's so confusing for the consumer. So that's another thing, another benefit, I guess, of working with a practitioner, anybody that's well versed in this, they know which brands, what dosage, what quality they are, they know the manufacturing processes, so you can trust what the product practitioner tells you, you know, the type of supplement, because it's the wild, wild west.
SPEAKER_00It oh, it absolutely is. So it's it's so and most people watching this, I think, understand that because they've probably been victim of a lot of terrible supplements themselves, as have as have I. I'm not I'm not immune to it either. You know, sometimes like I just I get sucked into the the the marketing of it. I'm like, oh, this is fantastic. Then I'm like, wait a second, what did I just buy?
SPEAKER_01But yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I think I think the E on the dress was environmental.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Doctor, okay. Let's talk about what are some of kind of the the external sort, you know, environmental factors that might be causing, you know, stress to some of your clients. You mentioned EMFs, you mentioned, I think, some environmental toxicities. What are some of the big ones you think are causing uh causing issues in a lot of people these days?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, for well, a lot, I was gonna say my clients, but a lot of people, it is the EMFs, the Bluetooth, the 5G, the the invisible, you know, waves out there that we can't see. Um, I I'm horrified when I see people walking around with, you know, AirPods in their ears. Um, and I think a lot of people just don't know, you know, um, they just don't realize that those wavelengths of the Bluetooth and the Wi-Fi and the cell signals are bombarding your body, bombarding, you know, your mitochondria. And if you think about it, you know, when you when you're in a hotel room and you open up your phone to search for the nearest Wi-Fi, I mean, how many come up on your phone, you know, uh options. And it is all around you, and it's going through the walls and the ceiling and the windows. So these invisible waves are always bombarding um your cells. And basically they'll they'll clot your blood a little bit too. You can see with the EMFs, your blood isn't flowing as well. It starts to clump up. All of those things then directly impact your energy, your ability to focus, you know, um your health in general. And I think that again, it's been normalized and we see it so often, people just don't know. And I'm not asking them to wear tinfoil hats, you know, or anything like that, but they have to realize the exposure that they're up against when they they're just at their computer and they've got Wi-Fi and they've got Bluetooth and they've got, you know, radio waves and all these things coming at them. There's things that they can do to mitigate that. And there's, you know, all kinds of things. We could go into that. But I think that the invisible ones that are just normalized these days.
SPEAKER_00Um Yeah, I I completely agree. I think that's one of the biggest ones. And I think it's one of the things people generally put on the back burner because you're like, well, let me do all this other stuff first, which is probably good to do the other stuff first, because one, the healthier you are, the more resilient you are to external stressors, including electromagnetic radiation, right? So that that step number one is getting healthy. And of course, detox is helpful because you don't want little metal antennas in your body as well to you know for for the EMF to go after, right? So there's a lot of things. But I think I remember one, I think it was Dr. years ago, Dr. Klinghart said this was years ago, he said the difference between the clients, his client, his patients that get better and the ones that don't are the ones who take the EMF um recommendations seriously.
SPEAKER_01Interesting.
SPEAKER_00Because a lot of them don't. And I mean at one point he was sending people, I think, to like these kind of zero EMF zones in in like somewhere in South America just to get away. I don't even know if they exist anymore now because of the satellites and all the radiation that I don't know if anyone can even escape it like just naturally without you know Faraday systems. But it's it's I think I think it is a big deal. And I think it's uh I mean it's getting worse. There's they're not taking down towers, they're definitely putting up more and more towers. They're not going, you know, they're not going from 5G back to four, you know, that's going up, up, up, up. And with you know, you'd think that with the new technologies they'd become safer, but they they seem to be getting more dangerous each time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And you know, and just so so some a few things. So the headphones you have on, they're wired, obviously. They're not Bluetooth, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, these are the they're the tubes too. The air tube wired.
SPEAKER_01It's so there's things they can do, and it's not expensive and it's simple. Like my my keyboard and my mouse right now are plugged in to the computer. They're not they're not Bluetoothing anything. Um, if I've got, you know, music playing, it's plugged into the phone, you know. So I try and mitigate any Bluetooth signals that I can going on. Same with the headphones, you know, either where, you know, I've got a mic on now, which is Bluetoothing. So that's, you know, not practicing what I preach. But um having the headphones that are wired, connecting the devices, having your computer connected to the router. And sometimes it's difficult. I understand that. Like my router here in my office is I don't know, probably 50 feet away. You know, that's a long cable to connect. So there's things you can do, and it's your choice. I I think that we're stuck in this world of ease, you know. Um, it's easy to have things not connected, you know. That's cell phones, and you know, I remember the days when the telephone had to be plugged into the telephone, you know, port and that kind of thing. Um so that's huge. And I think to answer your question, the second uh most ubiquitous toxin out there is plastics. Plastics. Plastics definitely disrupt the body, disrupt, you know, the ability for the body to detoxify. Um, I mean, so many things. We could go down a biochemistry rabbit hole, but just reducing the amount of food that you consume or drink that you consume that came out of plastic. For example, all of my clients, I give them a water bottle, a steel, stainless steel water bottle, because they do travel quite a bit. And I'm like, just do this one thing. Just don't drink water out of a plastic bottle. If you don't have it and you're at the little convenience store, find something that's in a metal bottle or a glass bottle. Just start there, you know, mitigate the plastics. Plastics, you know, they cover all of the food. They, you know, it's just everywhere. In fact, I interviewed um Dr. Venus Ramos, she's a physician in California for one of my master classes, and she's she's like the pillar of fitness and health. And she's always had high blood pressure, she said. She thought it was um, you know, genetic familiar, family related. And so she was on blood pressure meds. Well, I think it was a couple of years ago, she decided, for whatever reason, she had heard something about plastics. So she cut out all plastics in her environment, from you know, what she consumes to what she stores her food in, all that kind of thing. And her blood pressure came down. It was the only thing that affected her blood pressure. She was blown away. She's and so she got off the blood pressure meds. I mean, plastics alone.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. No, those are two good ones. They're definitely prevalent. I mean, there's really no escaping either. I think we we have more control over the plastics for sure, because uh if you're drinking out of a water, you know, reusing a plastic water bottle, like you said, just get stainless steel or glass. I use glass. You can use something else, right? I mean, it's definitely don't leave it in the car. If you have plastic water bottles, do not like let it heat up or don't take a plastic water bottle in the sauna with you or something where it's gonna leach even more. It's kind of like uh you know, aluminum um you know, cookware or something. Uh if you cook, if you put it in the oven, it's gonna be way worse. Right. Right, because it's releasing more of the aluminum. So stuff like that. I mean, I think these are great tips. And I I was thinking with the Wi-Fi back to that or or the wireless signals, it's like anything uh that is not connected with a wire, uh, there's an invisible field going from it to you or you know, to wherever it's going. So it's like if you could, if there was just a device that that could uh show like the visible fields, it would be so interesting. Uh like kind of like like in like a 3D imagery, opposed to like the, you know, there's like the you know, the EMF detectors, but I'm talking about like actual visualizing the field, it'd be so interesting just to see what you're walking through, just with all these fields. You know, you have blue like the TV's connected to the phone and this is everything's connected. It's like you've got this just this field. I'm imagining like a museum, I don't know why I say museum, like a bank or museum or some security system with those lasers.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well the lights.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like if you just see that and it's like whoa. So yeah, I mean, there are the basic things. I mean, if I mean ideally don't use Wi-Fi, just hardwire. And I mean, I'm hardwired, I don't we don't have Wi-Fi, but I know some some people like they can't even like they're they will are not even allowed to turn off their Wi-Fi routers. Like the route for router will not allow, like it won't turn the Wi-Fi won't turn off. Like there's all this interesting stuff.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And if you're living like I said, you know, we uh I'm all about convenience as well. And again, the the clients that I work with, you know, they're traveling, they they have to be on why they can't be connected to these things. So just how do you mitigate those things? You know, and that's where I think working with a a practitioner, again, myself, anybody else, we know the tips and tricks and strategy. So we're not just gonna say, hey, eliminate plastics. We'll start do this one thing. Do that. What can you do in your environment to eliminate that, reduce the Wi-Fi, um, being bombarded with it at least? It made me think, Jeff, when you were talking about the if we could see it, you know, if you've ever like had a you know, an open window or the window shades are open and the lights coming in, you know how you can see all the dust particles in the air sometimes? Yeah. And you're amazed that you're you're actually walking around all these dust particles, you can finally see them with the sun's rays coming in, something like that. You know, we're surrounded by it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it's I've got all this, you know, just right now. I've got, you know, I've got this like EMF brace. I'm just holding it with me. I've got the EMF card, I've got this bowl of you know, elite shangai. It's I just, you know, I don't know how much is any of it really helping? Hard to say. None of it's a substitute for you know safe EMF practices, but I'm like, you know, might as well see if any of it works. But yeah, it's it's it's it's do what you can with where with where you're at as well. Don't stress out about it. You know, sometimes the stress of the stress, stress of being stressed is worse than the actual stressor itself. So it's one of those like if you're in an apartment complex and you just cannot move and it's like a terrible EMF environment, start working on all the other stuff. You know, stop drinking the water, you know, okay, focus on the microplastic aspect, focus on getting healthy, you know, the detox, all this other stuff. So your body is more resilient. And then if you have an opportunity in life, you know, in a year or so, maybe it's move to a EMF safer environment, right? So it's a process. Everything doesn't have to be done in in six months or a year, but um, yeah, a lot of things.
SPEAKER_01And it is, yeah, it is a process. And that's where that that last S sustainable strategy is. What can we do next? What can we work on next to dial it in? Because, like you said, just um it took us our entire lives to get where we are, why we have the symptoms we have. We can't really expect the body to be completely healthy in six months. I mean, you've got to continue supporting it and tweaking things and doing those next level. And I've been in, you know, into the biohacking world. I don't know how much your audience really knows what that means, but biohacking is just um manipulating the environment around you and inside you, really to optimize your health. And it's just doing little, you know, little tweaks, if you will. Um, so anyway, through this biohacking world, there's I came across this bed. Um it's called Essentia, it's the Essentia mattress, that when you sit on it, it it doesn't stop EMFs. Because if I'm sitting in my bed with my cell phone, you know, I need to be able to see my cell phone, you know, get the Wi-Fi. But what it does is it harmonizes the EMFs with your body. So it harmonizes the waves. And I don't ask me to tell you about all the science because I'm not sure. But that alone, that's one way that you can better your sleep. You know, I don't recommend anybody work in the red at night, you know, with their laptop open and their cell phone, but that is one way. If you can just harmonize that, get rid of the EMFs in the bedroom at least, so you can sleep. You know, we'll start there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, couldn't couldn't agree more with that. See the the recovery. You do a lot of recovering when you're sleeping. So all right, we'll wrap this up a little bit. Let's talk about the okay. We mentioned the redress protocol. Share with people, and we'll include the show notes in the show notes as well. But where do they find you? Website if you have any socials, um, anything you want people to know about you if they want to work with you or follow you on your journey.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, great. Thank you for that. Um I'm not a I'm not a big social media person. Um, most all my clients come from referrals in the business world, but the website, so it's Apex Executive Wellness. Just apex executive wellness.com. That's the website. You can learn a little bit about me and um my two dogs, and you The the company and what I do. And then I also have a free gift that we curated for your audience because we're talking about, you know, doing little things, making little changes to, you know, kind of mitigate some of those symptoms. And so it's called the immediate relief guide. And it it really is. It's a like a 26-page guide, something like that, with specific recommendations and products, links to products. And I'm not affiliated with them. I don't get paid by them. They're just products that I use to help increase your energy, to help decrease the brain fog, help you with the weight loss, help you to sleep better. You know, it's all kinds of, you know, what I work with my clients on exactly. It's in this guide. And so it's again, it's free to download. It's apex executive wellness.com forward slash relief. And I was joking with my um friend the other day about it, and she goes, How do you spell relief? You know, that commercial. So anyway, apex executive wellness forward slash relief. Then you download the guide, and if they have any questions, you know, the my information's on there on the website. Contact me. I'd be happy to happy to support them in any way I can.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Awesome. Well, that's fantastic. Yeah, I'll make sure those are in the show notes and people can check out apex executive wellness.com as well. And then last question, I'll give you an option between, you know, you can answer whichever one you want. One, it could just be, you know, a piece of advice for anyone listening, a word of wisdom, favorite quote, maybe, or um, something you're seeing that maybe is a trend people should be um cautious of on social media. Well, you're not really on social media, maybe just a trend that you're hearing about that people should be cautious about, or a trend that hearing about that is a good thing. Anything you want to say, basically. Any closing words? Too much information.
SPEAKER_01Um, yeah, I'd like to leave the audience with with just just this. All of the information out there, wherever you get your information, TikTok, Facebook, you know, news feeds, whatever, and they say, do this to achieve that. It might have worked for them, it might have worked for a lot of people, but it might not work for you. So it's confusing and it's frustrating not knowing who to believe, what to try, who to trust, what products are good, what products are not. And so the really the best thing you can do again is go to an expert. Go to find an FDN, uh, functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner. You can go to FDN.com or functional diagnosticnutrition.com, and they'll have a list of practitioners. Find an expert who can tell you, is eating eggs good for you? Avocados good for you. You know, what should you do personally for your body? Because it can be so um just frustrating and confusing and quite maddening that you're trying all these things and nothing seems to be working, and it's we're just bombarded with so much information. And keep in mind if they're doing a you know, a social media post or a TikTok or something, they're probably trying to sell you something for a reason. And so find somebody that's not affiliated, that just knows the good products, the good information, um, to really get some guidance. I mean, the the peace of mind that can come from that alone is is huge. That alone will reduce your stress levels, which yeah, stress contributes to most all chronic diseases at this point. So yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Well, good. No, that's that's a great piece of advice. Thank you, thank you for sharing that with people. It's uh definitely good. So, well, I appreciate the time today. This was this was really great. And um look forward to you know staying in touch and keep up the good work.
SPEAKER_01That sounds great. You do the same. Thanks, Jeff. I appreciate it.
unknownUh
